Extra Performance Of Tristan And Isolde
The excitement about Lise’s Metropolitan Opera house debut as Isolde has been so great that all seven shows have sold out, so the Met has made the very rare decision to add an extra show at the end of the run.
There will be two changes to the cast for the extra show: Tristan will be sung by Stuart Skelton (who Lise sang the second act of Tristan and Isolde with in concert in Munich, in 2024), and King Marke by Stephen Milling (who Lise sang with in Fidelio at the Met in 2025, and in Tannhäuser in Bayreuth in 2019).
As the Met’s press release observed "Skelton is one of the leading interpreters of Tristan, having previously appeared in the role at the Glyndebourne Festival, Bavarian State Opera, Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, and in recent concert performances with the Philadelphia Orchestra, led by Maestro Nézet-Séguin. Milling has most recently sung King Marke with the Royal Danish Opera and Staatsoper Berlin."
Tickets for the new performance, at 1200 on Saturday April 4th, are on sale now at https://www.metopera.org/season/reserve/date-comparison/?perf=18644
