Verdi - new album!
Hello everyone!
I'm excited to announce that my Verdi album - recorded with the great London Philharmonic Orchestra and the amazing Ed Gardner - will be released this September. This is something we've been working on for years, so it's wonderful to finally be able to share it with you.
The first single from the album, Vieni! t'affretta! from Macbeth, is out now. It had to be Macbeth - it's the role I'll be opening the new season with at the Metropolitan Opera in New York this September, making my staged debut.
This scene comes at the very beginning of Lady Macbeth's journey. As she reads her husband’s letter, she realises she can finally have the power and position she has always wanted, but only if she can get Macbeth to do what must be done.
Macbeth is a beautiful opera with an extraordinary story, and I feel very fortunate to be singing this role. I'm also so happy that we were able to record this music for the album, and I can't wait to share the full Verdi album with you in September. But first... Vieni! t'affretta! I hope you enjoy it!
