Album Of Metropolitan Opera’s “Concert For Ukraine” Released

Earlier this year Lise sang “Four Last Songs” by Strauss at the Metropolitan Opera’s “Concert For Ukraine”, an evening in which the Met Orchestra and Chorus – conducted by Yannick Nézet-Séguin – and a group of exceptional soloists, came together to express solidarity with the people of Ukraine and help raise funds to support them.

As well as “Four Last Songs”, the programme included Barber’s “Adagio for Strings”, the Finale from Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, and the Ukrainian National Anthem with Ukrainian bass-baritone Vladyslav Buialskyi.

Now The Met, Decca Classics and Deutsche Grammophon have released a recording of the special concert. Proceeds from the sale of the album will be donated by The Met to charities supporting relief efforts in Ukraine. (As well as digital downloads, which are available now, the recording will soon be available to buy in the US as a physical album too.)

“This album captures a uniquely memorable performance by the Metropolitan Opera and its stars, and demonstrates the power of art to deliver a clear message to the forces of darkness that would destroy a nation.”

Peter Gelb, Met General Manager
