Lise To Make Role Debut As Isolde In Barcelona
Lise has announced that she'll be singing Isolde - for the first time ever - at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona in January 2026.
There will be five performances featuring Lise as Isolde, on January 12th, 19th, 23rd, 27th and 31st.
The new production will be directed by Bárbara Lluch, and will feature Clay Hilley as Tristan, Iréne Theorin as Brängane, and will be conducted by Susanna Mälkki.
This is a huge moment for Lise, and one that will cause a lot of excitement amongst fans of Lise and Wagner alike. As the Liceu puts it: «Undoubtedly, this is one of the roles the operatic world has been dreaming of, and it will mark a before and after in the global opera scene.»
Lise says: «I’ve been looking forward to singing Isolde for many years, and I’m excited to make my role debut, and my return from maternity leave, on the beautiful stage of the Gran Teatre del Liceu. I can’t wait to be surrounded by the Liceu’s smiling lamps and, hopefully, a smiling audience!»
